There’s been plenty of debate this week over the debate rules for the upcoming Georgia Senate debate, but the two main contenders to be the next U.S. senator aren’t expected to talk about it.
There’s been no official announcement yet, but Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R, WI) both have been pushing to change the debate format.
The rules were changed in 2010, so Perdue has been a vocal advocate for it.
Johnson has been one of the more vocal opponents, but he has been careful not to criticize the new rules.
The first Democratic debate will be held on March 12, and the candidates are expected to discuss the next four years of their respective campaigns in the coming weeks.
