NEW YORK (Reuters) – Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain and his son, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, will appear at the annual Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the National Republican Senatorial Committee announced on Friday.
Huckabee, a Republican, will lead the two-hour convention’s official debate, which will begin at 6 p.m.
EDT (1500 GMT).
Cain, a former GOP presidential candidate and a Fox News host, will moderate the two hours of the debate, taking questions from the audience.
Cain’s wife, Karen, will also moderate the debate.
A source familiar with the decision told Reuters that Cain and Huckabee would not be invited to the convention.
The event will be televised live on CNN and Fox News.
HuffPost Live will air live from Cleveland at 5 p.o.m EDT (2300 GMT), with interviews from Fox News and the debate’s main moderator, Fox News political analyst Dana Perino.
