The Savannah Guthris have a history of being contentious.
But this year, the Georgia native and a host of other guests were at it once again.
This time, the hosts were none other than the late, great Jim Norton, who’s often been seen with his hand on his heart during a public event.
In fact, when Guthries son was born a few weeks ago, the entire audience erupted in applause and clapping.
But in the end, Norton and the hosts decided to go a different route.
Instead of a live show, they decided to bring the show down to the basement, where they’d have a private conversation with Guth, according to the Savannah Chronicle.
During the interview, Norton said Guth would discuss the “fitness” of the Clintons’ fitness for office and what they might do about it.
Norton, a regular at Guth’s fundraisers, said he would offer a few thoughts to the audience, including “what the president would do differently, and what we can do about the current climate in our country.”
When Guths son was a few months old, the two started a Facebook page to help raise money for the newborn’s medical bills.
On Monday night, the event went off without a hitch.
The show was live-streamed on Facebook Live, where the entire house exploded with cheers.
“I have to say, the biggest applause of all night,” Guth said afterward, according the Savannah Daily News.
“It’s incredible, I have no words.”
When the conversation ended, Guth and Norton hugged and talked about their shared love for one another.
“She’s a good mother, I know,” Norton said.
“When she talks about the Clintons, it’s a different type of conversation.
There’s so much love for each other.”
